I love award shows. From the excitement of rooting for your favorite people to win, to seeing celebrities making fools of themselves on stage and everything in between. But, as I am sure you have guessed, the red carpet is my absolute favorite part. I love the hits and the misses, the hair that I want to try but know I will never achieve, and the make up I'm going to steal.
So, since last night was the Golden Globes, I am going to gawk over my favorite dresses from the night, I hope you feel the same way...
I love Anna Paquin's dress. It's an Alexander McQueen and could blind people but that is what makes it great! I am a bit of a magpie, so I gravitate towards anything sparkly. I really love that it is floor length, which makes her cleavage appropriate, and with cleavage like that this is the dress for her!
I wasn't that crazy about this dress the first time I saw it, and I only saw it from the ruffles up. But now that I am seeing it in its entirety I really like it. It is Christian Lacroix Haute Couture, and I commend Diane Kruger for pushing the standard at award shows. I feel like people usually play it a little safe, but I'm glad she didn't. I think the proportions are great, they make her figure look even better than it is, and it's pretty good. I like the little hit of white at the waist, and from far away the ruffle wispy bits look pretty and paint like. I wish her hair was a bit different, but you can only ask for so much.

I love Maggie Gyllenhaal. I think she is gorgeous beyond belief. And I really love this dress on her. It is RM by Roland Mouret. It kind of washes her out, but I like that. And I love that it is hard to see the geometric design created by pieces of fabric. I think it is flattering on her, and her hair and make up are complementary as well. So, all in all, well done!
Another person I really love! Chloe Sevigny in Valentino. It was floaty and feminine and sexy and unusual. She always pushes fashion and I love her for that. I love this pale pale lavender too. I just want to lounge around and twirl to make this dress really come to life. This is a great example of how to ruffle unconventionally.

I also noticed that a lot of people were wearing pale shades of pink that were almost skin tones. I really love that color and have seen it creeping up in a few stores, so if you want to be on top of a trend this spring, jump on that one then convince all your friends that lime green is in fashion so you'll look the best. Don't lie, you're tempted.
